8 Outdoor Bar Tables For You To Savor Spring Cocktails Over

8 Outdoor Bar Tables For You To Savor Spring Cocktails Over

It really doesn’t matter what time of year it is- I’d always rather be outside on the deck. Can’t really put my finger on why. Perhaps it’s because mother nature is way tidier than I am or because the sights and sounds of the outdoors are like natural Xanax.

Of course, there’s always the fact that adult beverages taste way better in the fresh air. So if you share my penchant for all things backyard and boozy, check out our list of outdoor bar tables to enjoy your next cocktail party or at-home happy hour al fresco style!

Outdoor Bar Table | Buying Considerations

Material

Bar tables come in all sorts of materials- but some work much better than others if you’re looking specifically for outdoor bar tables. For example, wicker, teak wood, and metals, including steel and cast aluminum. Some even come in durable plastic.

Remember that the material you choose will affect your bar table’s overall look, feel, and style. (It’ll come as no surprise to learn it’ll affect your wallet, too. But more on that in a sec.)

Scale

A bar table’s size should match the scale of your outdoor space, but you may also consider how many people will be using it. For instance, if there’s not enough space for people to sit around and have a drink together, your table may end up as just a pretty place to sit your drinks. Which is fine- but it may not be as inviting.

Suppose you and your family plan to use it for dinners on the patio? In that case, the size and height of your table should be large enough to accommodate that, too.

Storage

Like indoor bar carts, if you’re using your outdoor bar table to mix drinks and entertain, it should have enough space to store the goods! Something with shelves or a built-in cabinet is an excellent option if you want to show off your mixology skills. It’ll hold your booze, mixers, bartending kit, glasses, coasters, and whatever you need to impress your people.

Price Range

The price of outdoor tables is influenced by the size and what it’s made of. The most affordable we found (sold new) ran about $99.00. Middle of the road is roughly $275.00, and some of the more expensive options will set you back $500.00 or more.

When choosing any kind of outdoor furniture, you’ll weigh your options from a cost and aesthetic standpoint, of course. But keep in mind that sometimes investing a little more is worth it if your outdoor table will stand up to the weather and stay stylish for plenty of years.

Outdoor Bar Table FAQs

• What is the average height and width of a bar table?

The average height of a bar top table is between 36 and 39 inches. Still, as you can see from our list, that can easily fluctuate depending upon the table’s functionality. The same is true for a bar table’s average width.

When purchasing your bar top table, consider how you plan to use it. If you’re planning to stand and mix cocktails all night, a height of 42-46 inches is more comfortable. (And gives ample room behind the bar for storage shelves and cabinets.)

If you’re planning to sit and share drinks and/or a little dinner, be sure to provide plenty of elbow room for everyone. Each guest should have at least 22-24 inches of space to sit comfortably.

• What are most outdoor tables made out of?

Most outdoor tables are made from polypropylene resin wicker, but the most expensive tables are made from teak or acacia wood. Both materials are UV and water-resistant, but teak wood is also naturally mold and mildew-resistant, a handy feature for outdoor furniture that’ll need to survive whatever the weather throws at it.

• How can I clean my outdoor bar table so it will last longer?

Plastic and resin furniture is the lowest maintenance for cleaning; all you need is to wipe it down with spray cleaner and a damp cloth. Glass cleaner will work just fine if your table has a glass top.

If you have a metal table, gentle cleaning with a soft sponge or cloth dipped in water with a bit of mild dish soap will do the trick.

Teak or acacia wood bar tables need a little more TLC if you want to preserve them for years to come. Use a solution of water and oil soap or laundry detergent and a soft-bristled brush to carefully remove dirt and grime.

• If I have an outdoor table with bar storage, should I move it inside in the off-season?

Yes! Keeping it sheltered indoors in harsh weather will prolong the life of your table and keep those pesky fall leaves and cobwebs from taking over your storage space.

• What are the benefits of an outdoor table?

Other than providing a fabulous place to relax and entertain outdoors, outdoor tables can do double duty indoors as well! Depending upon your personal style, you can use it in a sunroom, living room, dining room, or even a small breakfast nook.

• How many people can I seat around my bar table?

Of course, the answer to this question depends upon how big your table is. Most are suited for two to four people, but if you plan to entertain lots of people or gather your large family around your bar table, there are plenty of larger options to accommodate everyone.
